I Have always been a big fan of the modding community and I have dabbled in the hobby myself but this creation blows anything I have made out of this solar system.

The 3D printed case boasts themed lighting and sounds of our favorite droid. The sounds being provided by a WAVE shield from ADAFruit. On his website, Eddie credits the droid building community at www.astromech.net with assistance in completing the project. Finally the system comes complete with an attached screen which makes this self contained entertainment “laptop” portable and perfect for on the go entertainment.

I was so surprised to learn this fact about R2-D2. “In early drafts of the script, R2-D2 could speak standard English, and had a rather foul vocabulary. Although all of R2’s English speech was removed, many of C-3PO’s reactions to it were left in.” It really makes you wonder if the R2-D2 character would have been as beloved as it is now if George Lucas had stuck to his original script.
