As someone who recently read “Dune” for the first time — as an adult, well after aging out of its target cohort — it was with some amusement that I read director Denis Villeneuve describe his forthcoming adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel by saying that “in a way, it’s Star Wars for adults.”.
